As you, the Buffalo Sabres are in the process of ushering a new core group of young players.

Nice work, Garth. You managed to get two words in before you started murdering the English language.

Hahaha...
What about Miller for O'reilly at the deadline?
Maybe parts need to be added onto either side (or both) for the deal to work
Clearly, The AVs don't make this deal unless Miller agrees to extend there as part of the trade
And of course, if Colorado is getting good goaltending then they won't have interest in Miller
Or if they can work out an extension with O'reilly then they won't be trading him

But if the AVs are in like 7th, and getting average goaltending, I'd think Miller would be an interesting possibility

Trust me, nothing in Buffalo could ever amount to the mount of drama that has gone on with Lou in VanCity. Its freakin ridiculous.

BUF send Miller
NYI send Sundstrom & 2014 3rd round pick

Sundstrom is a future 2nd line shutdown center...needs 1-2 more years in the AHL. He is similar to Frans Nielsen except with more size.

Hodgson & Sundstrom as a 1-2 punch would be a good start to BUF's rebuild down the middle.

Sundstrom will be an overqualified 3rd line center so you'd bring some scoring to that line one Grigo comes aroudn to playing top-6 minutes.

So What have you then done about Freakarenko as he is a center and Zemgus as he is also a center and I believe Larsson is even a Center I think at some point they are going to want wingers since they have Goalie prospects,Centers and Defense lol

We have Girgs that will be that number 2 shut down center.and he is closer than 1-2 years away.

That, and Miller has one year left on his deal. Even if the Sabres create enough drama around Ryan Miller to match the level of Luongo, there will always be one significant difference: Ryan Miller can go wherever he damn well pleases come July.

Gotta give to get. I know losing Ellis and his leadership would hurt.

and we can read into any comments he may make from now until then, but the fact remains that if they don't have an extension hammered out by the trade deadline, they have to get what they can.

Unfortunately, dealing goaltenders of his stature at the deadline is rarely done.

unless some team has the unfortunate problem of having their top goalie go down and their back up sucking

Johan Larsson >>> Johan Sundstrom
Therefor, this deal makes absolutely no sense for us
U can't just send us your 4th best Center prospect & a crappy pick and hope to get Miller
ESP when we have many better center prospects than the guy you're trying to give us
Besides Larsson (and obviously Hodgson), Grigorenko & Girgensons are both higher rated, actually much higher rated
And your assessment of Sundstrom as a 2nd line shutdown center is overrating him quite a bit... He's a 3rd line center without much scoring potential...
Solid player, but not nearly a good enough prospect to get Miller
ESP if all you're giving with him is a 3rd
You'll have to do MUCH better

EDIT
Snow won't trade Strome or Reinhart (unless he's an idiot),
So IMO, Brock Nelson will be the prospect both sides are likely to agree on if a deal is to be made between the teams
(I did say "IF")
And you're prob gonna have to make that 3rd a 1st round pick

Am I overrating Miller? MAYBE
But look what Darcy got for Pominville...
He isn't going to give Miller away unless he gets desperate to unload him
